Driving Directions

The airport is located just off Autobahn (motorway) A8 Karlsruhe-Munich. Take the exit Stuttgart-Flughafen (no.53), or Bundesstrasse B27, and follow the signs for either Arrivals (Ankunft) or Departures (Abflug). See the airport's website for detailed maps.

Car Hire

Car hire companies include Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise Rent A Car and Sixt; agencies are located in Terminal 3, Level 2 (Arrivals).

Public Transport

Bus: There are several direct bus links (tel: (711) 66060; www.vvs.de) to destinations in and around Stuttgart, departing from outside Terminal 1 Arrivals level. Journey time to the city centre is around 25 minutes. The single fare is €3.40. Taxi: There is a 24-hour taxi service to Stuttgart (journey time: 20 minutes); the taxi rank is situated in front of Terminal 1, Level 3 (Departures).Taxis can be pre-booked on (0711) 551 0000 and (711) 19416.
Rail: The airport is connected to central Stuttgart by commuter trains S2 (Schorndorf) and S3 (Backnang) (tel: (711) 66060; www.vvs.de), which both serve Stuttgart central station (journey time: 30 minutes). Stuttgart central station is served by S-Bahn trains for destinations throughout Stuttgart, and high-speed intercity, express and regional trains to destinations throughout Germany and beyond (tel: (01805) 996 633; www.bahn.de). The S-Bahn station is in Terminal 1 Level 1.  

Car Parking

Short-term parking is available in car parks P1 and P3, and the covered garages P4 and P6; for long-term-use car parks P0, P2 (covered), P8 (covered), P10 (covered) and P11 (covered); the first hour of parking in P0 is free. Long-term parking is also available in P4 during the summer holidays and can be reserved in advance (tel: (711) 948 4452). Car parks are open 24 hours. Parking is also available at the P-Hotel car park.
