Passports
Passports should be valid for at least six months after the date of arrival in Malaysia.
Visas
For a visit of less than three months, citizens of the UK, the USA and nations in the European Economic Area can obtain a free single-entry visa on arrival at the main international airports and land border crossings in Malaysia. Citizens of other countries may require a tourist visa – full details are provided by the Department of Immigration (www.imi.gov.my).

Visa Note
Nationals may still require a pass upon arrival, even if they are permitted to enter Malaysia visa-free. All visitors must have proof of adequate funds and an onward or return sea or air ticket. Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements.
Types of Visa and Cost
Single/Multiple-entry: On arrival, free (90 days), RM6-RM20 (over three months) - see www.imi.gov.my for more details including transit visa fees.
Validity
Single-entry visas are valid for three months from date of issue. Multiple-entry visas are valid for one year from date of issue.
