Driving Directions

From downtown Chicago, head southwest on Interstate 55 (Stevenson Expressway north) for 8km (5 miles). Take the Route 50 exit 286 and go straight south on Route 50 to Chicago Midway International Airport.

Car Hire

Car hire counters are located on the lower level of the terminal building near baggage claim. Hire car pick-up and drop-off is located on level 2 of the airport's Parking Garage. The following hire car companies operate at Chicago Midway International Airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.

Public Transport

Bus: The Chicago Transit Authority operates bus services between Chicago Midway International Airport and the city. A one-way fare costs US$2.25. Shuttle: Go Airport Express (tel: 1 888 284 3826; www.airportexpress.com) offers daily shuttle services between Chicago Midway International Airport, downtown Chicago and south suburban locations. Coach USA Wisconsin (tel: 1 877 324 7767; www.coachusa.com) and Omega Airport Shuttle (tel: (773) 734 6600; www.omegashuttle.com) provide regular transport between Midway and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Taxi: Pick-up areas are located on the lower level in front of the terminal building. There are no flat rates; all taxicabs run on meters. Shared ride services and taxi vans are available.
Rail: The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) (tel: (312) 836 7000; www.transitchicago.com) Orange Line serves the southwest side of Chicago and connects Chicago Midway International Airport with downtown Chicago. Travel time between downtown Chicago and the airport is around 30 minutes and the fare is US$2.25.

Car Parking

Hourly parking is available on level 1 of the Parking Garage, while daily parking is available on levels 4, 5 and 6. Travellers can access the terminal building from the Parking Garage on levels 1, 3 and 4. A ‘cell phone lot’ for motorists waiting to meet arriving passengers is also available. Economy car parks are located on 55th Street, and a remote parking area can be found at 72nd Street and Cicero Street. A free 24-hour shuttle service is available at all economy and remote parking lots. Shuttle stops are identified by numbered signs.
