Getting there from the airport, Aeroporto Benitez International

Santiago Benitez International Airport is located about 17km (10.6 miles) from the city center, and the trip between the two should take no more than 15 to 20 minutes if it’s not rush hour. The bus offers the most economical way to get from the airport to the city center, and there are two options. The Centropuerto costs about CLP1400 (US$2.94) and runs every 10 to 30 minutes, stopping downtown near the Los Héroes Metro. From there you can hop a train, taxi or city bus. The second option is Tur Bus, which costs about CLP1200 (US$2.30) and runs every 30 minutes.

The airport taxi is the most expensive option, costing anywhere between CLP10,000-14,500 (US$20-28) from curbside. It’s a bit cheaper (about CLP 8000) to catch a cab just outside the airport, and you also can haggle with drivers over price if you’re so inclined.

Mini-buses also offers door-to-door service and cost between CLP$3200-4500 (US$6-9). It’s a shared van service stopping periodically to drop off other passengers, so it may take longer than a taxi to reach your final destination.
