From the airport to the city and back,
Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located around 25 kilometres to the east of the city. The airport is divided into four levels: on the first level there is a terminal for shuttle buses, private buses and trucks, the second level is the arrival area, level three houses a conference centre and other facilities and level four is the departure area. There is also a ‘Public Transportation Center’ approximately ten minutes from the main terminal. The centre is connected to the airport with a free shuttle service.
Taxis can be found at two locations: level one and the Public Transportation Center. The trip to the city can take anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours, depending on traffic conditions. The fare costs 250-350 baht (approximately €5.70 - €8.00).
If you prefer to travel by bus, simply take the free shuttle to the Public Transportation Center. Buses from the station will take you to the city for approximately 35 baht (€0.80).
There are limousines for hire at a stand located at the level two exit. Depending on your destination, the fare will cost somewhere between 600 and 1,500 baht (approx. €13.50 – €34.00).
