Shorter waiting times for frequent flyers (Boston)

Shorter waiting times for frequent flyers ,

At airports in Boston and Orlando waiting times at security checkpoints have been shortened. The Transport Security Administration (TSA) is implementing the “Black Diamond Self-Select Lane” concept in these cities, which has already been successfully trialled in Denver and Salt Lake City.

Passengers are divided into different queues depending on their individual travel experience. Experienced business passengers who travel several times a month and know the security procedures stand in the black queue. Experience shows that this queue goes through security the fastest. Passengers who do not travel so frequently but who still know the procedures stand in the blue queue. The green queue is for families with children, older passengers and passengers who need special assistance. The “Self-Select Lane” concept should lead to decreased waiting times and optimised service.
