What to see and do? (Buenos Aires)

Monday December 13, 2010 at 2:54PM from Sabine K.
What to see and do?, Reserva Ecologica

For a taste of Latin American art and culture check out the city’s museums, most of which are free or cost only a few pesos to enter. Try the National Fine Arts Museum, Museum of Latin-American Art of Buenos Aires and the Evita Museum.

Although it may sound eerie, visit the Cementerio de la Recoleta–a remarkable cemetery in one of BA's most exclusive areas. This cemetery is the final resting place of some of Argentina’s good, bad and beautiful people – the most popular being Evita Peron's flower-strewn monument.

Pick up a picnic and chill out at the Reserva Ecólogica Constanera Sur, a multi-purpose green space containing lakes and a lush habitat for local wildlife, as well as keen exercisers. Or, if you fancy something more up tempo, visit a traditional milonga, where you can practice the tango.  Try Tango Cool in Palermo, which welcomes beginners and offers classes.
