An active conclusion to a meeting or day of business, Bürgerpark

For those searching for some physical activity following an exhausting day of meetings or business activities, the Bürgerpark located in the centre of Bremen is the perfect thing: the great green lung of Bremen stretches up from Bremen central station, flanked by the Stadtwaldsee lake (also known as Unisee). Together, they cover over 200 hectares, with the Bürgerpark accounting for the majority of the area. Many runners do their laps in the early morning hours, but even in the evening, you will definitely not be the only one getting some fresh air and a little exercise. The running tracks are partially lit and for the late hours, there is the “Finnenbahn” with its 1,667 km (3 laps = 5km), which provides a suitable surface for running in the dark.

And for those who aren’t so fond of jogging but still require a little fresh air following a day of business or a meeting, there are plenty of statues, memorials and an animal sanctuary to admire, as well as other locations to visit such as the “Waldbühne” open air stage, the “Haus am Walde” restaurant and beer garden, and the “Meierei” historical dairy.
