Rawa - A stunning island near Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Island of Rawa, Malaysia

A beautiful island on the eastcoast of Malaysia near to the famous island Tioman. Only a short trip by bus or car from Singapore (3 - 4 hrs) or Kuala Lumpur (4 - 5 hrs). Even a taxi from Kuala Lumpur is affordable for a few dollars.

Destination is the little harbour town called Mersing. From there the fisher take you with their private boats to the lonely and little island of Rawa. The island, blue sparkling water, white sandy beaches sourrounded by the jungle is only half an hour trip away from the mainland but you will feel as you are in paradise.

Life is simple on the island, however, breakfast at the beach and the food prepared by the fishermen is unbelievable. Even the sultan family of Malaysia is coming for dinner from time to time to enjoy the uncomparable food of the cook from Le Club Rawa.

Two ressorts are there: Rawa Safari Ressort the luxurious option with nice bungalows on the beach or Le Club Rawa, the more authentic adventure with little huts directly at the beach where the fishermen prepare food for you. Go there on a Saturday...they prepare fresh barbecue for their guests every Saturday.

I have travelled a lot around Asia but this is by far the most spectacular and relaxing place I have been so far! And perfect for weekend trips from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to relax from a tough working week.
